The market for small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) initial public offerings is poised for a busy week, with three companies from diverse sectors aiming to raise a collective ₹138.79 crore. Vilas Transcore, Beacon Trusteeship, and GSM Foils are tapping public markets to fund strategic growth initiatives, including capital expenditure, technological upgrades, and working capital requirements.
Leading the trio is Vilas Transcore, a manufacturer of components for the power transmission and distribution industry. The company is seeking to raise up to ₹95.26 crore through a fresh issue of 64.8 lakh equity shares. The IPO, with a price band of ₹139 to ₹147 per share, will open on May 27. Proceeds are earmarked for strategic investments, expansion of its factory, and acquisition of new machinery.
Beacon Trusteeship, a provider of debenture trustee services, is launching its ₹32.52 crore IPO on May 28. The issue comprises a fresh issue of 38.72 lakh shares and an offer for sale (OFS) of 15.48 lakh shares, priced between ₹57 and ₹60 per share. The firm plans to use the capital raised to bolster its technology infrastructure and purchase new office premises, signaling a push for greater market presence.
GSM Foils, which manufactures blister and strip foils for the pharmaceutical industry, is looking to raise ₹11.01 crore. Its fixed-price issue of ₹32 per share will be open for subscription from May 24 to May 28. The funds are slated for acquiring new plant and machinery to enhance production capacity and for augmenting its working capital.
This wave of public offerings underscores the continued investor appetite for growth-oriented SMEs. The diversity of the sectors represented—from industrial manufacturing and power infrastructure to financial services and pharmaceutical packaging—highlights the broad-based utility of SME platforms for capital formation. For investors, these IPOs present an opportunity to gain exposure to niche businesses with significant growth potential, though such investments inherently carry higher risk compared to mainboard listings. The successful execution of these fundraises could further encourage other SMEs to pursue public listings as a viable avenue for financing future growth and expansion projects.
