India’s capital market for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is experiencing a flurry of activity this week, with five companies launching initial public offerings to collectively raise over ₹164 crore. The listings, all planned for the National Stock Exchange's SME platforms, highlight growing momentum and investor appetite in this market segment.
On September 25, three companies opened their public subscriptions. Digikore Studios, a visual effects provider, is seeking to raise up to ₹30.48 crore through an issue priced between ₹168 and ₹171 per share. Concurrently, Newjaisa Technologies, which deals in refurbished IT hardware, launched its ₹39.93 crore IPO with a price band of ₹44 to ₹47. Lubricant manufacturer Arabian Petroleum also entered the market with a fixed-price issue of ₹70 per share, aiming to secure ₹20.24 crore.
The week's activity is not limited to Monday's launches. The subscription period for Mangalam Alloys' ₹54.91 crore IPO, priced at ₹80 per share, concludes on September 25. Later in the week, on September 26, Goyal Salt will open its ₹18.63 crore offering, with shares priced between ₹36 and ₹38. These offerings represent a wide array of industries, from specialty metals and salt processing to technology and visual effects, providing investors with diverse opportunities.
This cluster of IPOs underscores the increasing viability of SME platforms like NSE Emerge as a crucial channel for smaller companies to access growth capital. For investors, these offerings require careful due diligence, as the minimum investment sizes are substantial. For instance, the lot size for Newjaisa Technologies and Goyal Salt is 3,000 shares, while Arabian Petroleum's is 2,000 shares, reflecting the higher-risk, higher-reward nature typical of SME investments. The successful subscription and listing of these companies could further bolster confidence in the SME market segment.
