India vs Uruguay tickets crash from INR 1999 to INR 199 as organisers make 90% price cut ahead of next clash

Organisers have announced a sharp reduction in ticket prices for the India-Uruguay clash, cutting the listed price from INR 1,999 to INR 199. The move represents a reduction of about 90%.

Free entry for affected spectators

The decision follows an unfortunate incident at a Kolkata venue last year during Lionel Messi’s G.O.A.T. tour. Organisers have decided to allow free entry to the 22,000 spectators who were affected during that event.

The free-entry decision and the lower ticket price mark a significant change in the organisers’ approach ahead of the next clash. The available information does not provide further details on the incident, ticket distribution process or the date of the India-Uruguay match.

What the announcement means

For spectators covered by the organisers’ decision, entry will be free. Other ticket buyers will see the price fall to INR 199, compared with the earlier INR 1,999 figure.

The announcement links the revised ticket arrangements to the earlier Kolkata event involving Messi. It also places the 22,000 affected spectators at the centre of the organisers’ response.
