The initial public offering from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was 44% subscribed by the end of the second day of bidding, primarily supported by strong demand from retail investors. The offering, which aims to raise ₹62.83 crore, received bids for 97.8 lakh shares against the 2.24 crore shares available.
The subscription figures reveal a significant divergence in interest among different investor classes. The portion reserved for retail investors saw robust demand, reaching 81% subscription. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) also showed considerable interest, with their quota being 49% subscribed. In contrast, Qualified Institutional Bidders (QIBs) have remained on the sidelines, with their allocated portion subscribed by only 3% so far.
The NSE has set a price band of ₹26 to ₹28 per share for its IPO, with investors required to bid in lots of 4,000 shares. The issue is composed entirely of a fresh issue of shares and is slated for listing on the BSE SME platform. Early market indicators show a grey market premium (GMP) of ₹2.25 per share. This suggests a potential listing premium of approximately 8% over the upper end of the price band, indicating modest expectations for listing day gains.
Market analysts have largely issued positive recommendations for the offering, pointing to the company's long-term potential. Commentators highlight NSE's established brand recognition, diversified business operations across India, and a track record of strong financial performance as key strengths. The valuation is generally considered reasonable by market observers.
Despite the positive outlook, potential investors are advised to consider inherent market risks. Analysts have pointed to the competitive landscape and the intrinsic volatility of the capital markets as primary factors that could impact the company's performance post-listing. The IPO subscription period is scheduled to conclude on February 9.
