Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd's board of directors has approved an investment of ₹1,264.44 crore for the development of a critical power transmission system in Gujarat. Project Scope and Timeline

The investment targets the "Transmission System for evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7GW) Part E2." This Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project is scheduled for commissioning by November 2025. It will be executed through Power Grid Khavda-V Transmission Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the state-run utility.

This capital allocation is part of a larger, phased development aimed at harnessing the renewable energy potential of the Khavda area.
