Kamal & Co, DRC Systems, and Veeram Securities Set Dates for Upcoming Stock Splits Three companies listed on Indian exchanges—Kamal & Company Ltd, DRC Systems India Ltd...
Three companies listed on Indian exchanges—Kamal & Company Ltd, DRC Systems India Ltd, and Veeram Securities Ltd—are scheduled to execute stock splits next week. This corporate action is intended to increase the number of outstanding shares while reducing the price per share, making them more affordable for retail investors.
Both Kamal & Company and DRC Systems India have set Tuesday, June 18, as the ex-record date for their respective 10-for-1 stock splits. Each company will subdivide one equity share with a face value of Rs 10 into ten equity shares with a face value of Re 1 each. This move aims to bolster liquidity and expand their shareholder base.
The announcement follows a period of significant share price appreciation for Kamal & Company, which has seen its stock rise by 115% in the last six months. DRC Systems India has also experienced gains, with its share price increasing by over 18% in the past year.
Later in the week, Veeram Securities will implement its own stock subdivision, with an ex-record date of Friday, June 21. The company will split its shares on a 5-for-1 basis, converting two equity shares of Rs 10 face value into ten shares of Rs 2 face value. Shares of Veeram Securities have climbed over 25% in the last year.
Stock splits are a common strategy used by companies to improve the affordability of their shares without altering the company's total market capitalization. While the number of shares held by an investor increases, the total value of their investment remains the same at the time of the split. The primary objective is to attract a wider pool of investors by lowering the per-share entry price, which can lead to increased trading volume. Investors should note that a split does not change a company's underlying fundamentals or intrinsic value.
