India’s opposition parties have publicly called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, signaling a significant crisis of confidence in the institution overseeing the world's largest democratic exercise. The move follows accusations of systemic bias in favor of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and what critics describe as a failure to maintain impartiality.
